NOT A PLACE FOR MOM
NOT A PLACE FOR MOM
Born in 1924, I was the third child in a family of 7 kids, (5 girls and 2 boys). Growing up during the Great Depression I learned to appreciate every penny I made. As soon as I graduated from high school at 16 years old, I began working and taking care of myself. Though I met my future husband one year earlier, we went our separate ways when I moved to Washington, DC in pursuit of a career and George went off to fight for our Country in WWII. During the War, like many civilians who joined the war effort, I worked in factory sorting bomb fuse heads.
After George returned from the service, we got married and had our first child Steven. We both worked hard to make sure we could give Steve a better life than we had. As we became more financially stable we had two more children Gerard and Michael. With 3 children we both worked full time jobs to give them the best life we could. Putting them through College and once they were on their own, I continued to work and going to night school attaining a Degree in Accounting.
Retirement brought the opportunity for George and I to travel and visit our Sons who all lived in other States by then. Up until George had his stroke we were enjoying our carefree life in our home of 50+ years. After George passed away, I sold the house and used the proceeds for my Entry Fee to Taylor Community. Being led to believe this was the way to avoid being a burden to my kids, I signed the Continuing Care Contract. Which supposedly guaranteed me healthcare of if I ever ran out of money. This proved to be a huge mistake, as it feels like I signed my life away. The following documents and reviews will explain in detail how they mismanaged my medication, falsified medical records and left my Lifeline system unplugged and malfunctioning for months at a time.
Though the years may have changed my physical appearance, they haven’t taken away my desire to live and my right to be treated with respect and dignity as a human being. Since I know all of the current residents are afraid to speak out, it makes it imperative that these facts are exposed to give them a voice and to effect change. This information is only small fraction of the Factual Hard Documentation and Technical Data available and will be exposed in coming months. (See galleries to enlarge and view actual documents)
Read on to learn from what I went through and why I was forced to leave for my own safety. Hank and Heather’s recklessness that not only endangered my health but my overall safety. The lies and attempted coverups by Susan Denopoulos and Michael Flaherty in collusion with The NH State Insurance Commission. The inaction by the Trustees, Board of Directors and all State Agencies, makes for a scary situation for all Seniors living in Taylor Community.
